In the late summer of 2001, Randy Edwards composed FOUR BENEDICTIONS for Craig Courtney at Beckenhorst Music. Little did any of us realize that by mid-September, a tragedy of epic proportions would befall New York City, our nation and, indeed, the entire our world. On this, the nineteenth anniversary of 9/11, YouthCUE offers this audio recording of one of the FOUR BENEDICTIONS, entitled, “May the Lord Bless You and Keep You,” sung here by Metropolitan Opera Tenor David Portillo and the 2017 YouthCUE National Honor Choir in the Washington National Cathedral.
As we face the enormous challenges of 2020, may this gentle setting of the ancient Aaronic blessing bring new comfort and peace into all our lives.
