When cards are shuffled, when salad is tossed,

our room rearranged, our goals are lost,

There’s a place we can go, a space we can stand,

where we will be strong, wherever we land.

With politics sticky, and friendships quite tricky,

with disagreements quickly turning so sickly,

There’s a place we can go, a space we can stand,

where we will be strong, however we land.

With our programs deprogrammed, our plans off the rails,

when our kids hit the skids, when we surely might fail,

There’s a place we can go, a space we can stand,

where we will be strong, whenever we land.

When our energy droops, when the song will not sing,

our voice is a loop, few chords really ring,

Young leaders are scattered, aspirations now battered,

no matter the flatter, our dreams have been shattered.

When tasting defeat, we long for a song.

When feeling the heat, will right conquer wrong?

There’s a place we can go, a space we can stand,

where we will be strong, wherever we land.

Where is this kind place we can go and can stand?

Where will we be strong however we land?

‘Tis a place of God’s comfort, where held by God’s hand,

we know we are loved, despite shifting sand.

When feeling alone and you barely can speak,

you can know you are steady, no longer so weak.

Stand firm in the knowledge that you are now strong,

As one of God’s chosen, you always belong.
