For many years, the classic a cappella Leontovich/Wilhousky "Carol of the Bells" could only be performed well by experienced choirs. This arrangement stays true to the classic, but it adds a stylistically appropriate accompaniment that will enable younger and less-experienced choirs to present this audience favorite in a concert setting. This accompanied adaptation has lots of integrity while being more accessible. As is usually true for SAB settings, some of the harmonies miss the bass part, but for the most part, this SAB adaptation is well worth the effort for what will be a true concert favorite.
This reviewer prefers the performance tempo to move more quickly than the recording provided by the publisher.
