This bright and upbeat arrangement of Mary Haugen's well-loved You Are Salt for the Earth features a delightful keyboard accompaniment which provides a joyful backdrop to the very accessible choral writing. Quoting the words of Jesus found in Matthew 5:13, this anthem of encouragement is fitting for any service that focuses on missions, outreach, or discipleship.

Even a young, inexperienced choir needs to be challenged, so the easy vocal lines & predictable harmonies of this piece may pose a concern here. However when time is short and a quick anthem needs to be taught with a general text, this would be a good go-to.
The Bottom Line
Pros
Very easily taught piece for general use.
Cons
May not be challenging enough to engage singers over time.
