This anthem has much the same magnetism and appeal as the other Linda Spencer anthem reviewed, "Wings of the Dawn." Text is so strong and assuring that it practically sings itself, and the melodies and harmonies are so compelling they make the students want to get every note and rhythm in order to hear the beauty. Again, this piece has been sung for weddings, funerals, baby dedications, and in other special family times when student choir members grow up and encounter the challenges and transitions of life. "Not by chance or circumstance, I'm in Your hands." It's a jewel which every student would benefit from singing and memorizing!
The Bottom Line
Pros
Excellent opportunities for good teaching
Cons
Tenors tessitura is a bit of a challenge
