This setting of Matthew 5:3-12 is classic. In over thirty years of use with this piece, I have never known it to not work or to fall flat. It ALWAYS works and is effective in engaging the congregation as well as the students. I believe it can be said the student never become weary of singing it. The message is so universally relevant that the music practically sings itself. This congregational participation piece is a great addition to any concert or worship service. You owe it to your students to have them sing and memorize this wonder passage of scripture through this lovely, gentle music.
The Bottom Line
Pros
Highly workable and easy to make effective
Cons
Accompaniment can become static if not varied with instruments
