From Robert Ray's Gospel Mass, this anthem is a warm, colorful addition to worship, concert, and general repertoire. Provides superb opportunity for students who play bass and percussion to use their talents in accompanying. Much can be done with this piece, including the use of liturgical dance and choreography, but it is also interesting enough to stand still and sing if you choose. Your students are likely to gravitate to this anthem because they will feel the subtle rhythms and will be intrigued with the close, yet attainable, harmonies.
The Bottom Line
Pros
Simple and quite singable
Cons
Careful to avoid to much voica scooping
