A profoundly moving text, written on a cellar wall during the rise of Nazi Germany, joins with original music to create a deeply emotional expression of hope for all mankind. With brief narration and the echo of a Russian folk melody, this is an important contribution to the concert repertoire for more discerning choirs!

When setting a classic SATB for another voicing, the pressure is on to leave the integrity of the original voicing as intact as possible. While obviously not as rich in men's sonority, this 3-pt Mixed arrangement comes close, making this beautiful piece more accessible for younger, but experienced choirs.
The Bottom Line
Pros
A true classic by Stroope is set for SAB (3-pt Mixed) voices with integrity to the SATB.
