The national anthems for Canada and the United States of America are straight-forwardly arranged for solid choral part-singing. The setting of the American National Anthem is not fancy, but better suited for younger choirs than many that are in choral libraries, yet still suitable for adults. Less "fussiness" in the choral lines make it easier to facilitate in an outdoor setting. A cappella 4-part arrangements of "O Canada!" are not easy to find, and this paring would come in handy for a choir that has been asked to open almost any professional hockey game, as most US hockey teams have many Canadian players.

The Bottom Line

Pros
Appropriate for most choirs; excellent for sporting events and other a cappella settings
