A spirited, festive setting of this popular spiritual. Challenging for choir, but worth the work. Great program piece for college or advanced church choirs.

This a capella arrangement of the well-known spiritual is for the advanced youth or adult choir. Although it uses a lot of unison, divided treatments SSA (SAA) and TTB (TBB) that pop in and out throughout, and difficult a cappella key changes are not for the faint of heart. Well-sung, this will be unforgettable for the strong, experienced large choir. This piece MUST be performed a cappella to be effective.
The Bottom Line
Pros
Strong spiritual that grows with intensity throughout.
Cons
Has an awful lot of unison, but contrasted with divisi challenges.
