This sensitive, earnest ballad explores the infinite love of God that allowed his Son to be sacrificed for us. Gentle blending of melodies and piano accompaniment brings dignity to the Early American folk-like tune and lends this contemporary worship song a "classic" feel. It makes a great contemporary feature for the more traditional church!

Stuart Townsend's contemporary hymn is set beautifully by Larry Shackley in 5/4 meter and with a gentle accompaniment. Perfect for Good Friday, this thought-provoking text centered on the cross would also be good at almost any time of year. It is easily teachable, and the 5/4 meter will be a good learning experience for any choir. This is a new SAB arrangement of the 2004 SATB arrangement.
The Bottom Line
