This classic Christmas chorus from Handel's Messiah has been skillfully arranged for SAB voices and organ by Hal H. Hopson. He has masterfully kept the essence of the original, even in the polyphonic sections, while simplifying the parts for smaller choirs. He also lowered the key a step from A major to G major.

This SAB adaptation of the classic Handel piece maintains the basic integrity of Handel's work and is an excellent introduction to the Messiah for a young or inexperienced choir. In a lower key (G major instead of the original in A major), it also is easier to use with younger voices. A bonus feature is the stylistically correct demo recording found on most websites that offer this arrangement for sale.
The Bottom Line
Pros
This is an excellent adaptation of the classic Handel piece for the less experienced or smaller choir.
